Après plusieurs années passées au Canada, Roy Thompson démarre en 2003 un groupe appelé
“Roy Thompson & His Royal Acadians “après de nombreuses tournées au Canada, USA ainsi qu’en Europe, en jouant dans des pays tels que la France, l’Angleterre, Italie, Suisse, Belgique, Espagne, Autriche, Hollande, Scandinavie... et accompagnants des artistes des années 50 tels que
Billy Lee Riley et Eddie Bond…Roy décida en 2005 de revenir en Europe et de relancer ce groupe en 2010 avec une nouvelle line-up :
"The Mellow Kings"
Le background musical va du Blues et Rhythm & Blues au Rock’n’Roll des années 50 et 60, se référant et s’inspirant d’artistes tels que Ike Turner, Ray Charles, T-Bone Walker, Larry Williams, Little Richard, Young Jessie, Junior Watson, Bobby Blue Bland and the Memphis sound, Freddie King, Johnny Otis, Guitar Junior and the Louisiana Style....plus de nombreuses compositions agrémentant le répertoire qu'il joue maintenant depuis de nombreuses années à travers toute l'Europe, avec plusieurs albums à son actif.

After several years spent in Canada, Roy Thompson set up in 2003 a band called
“Roy Thompson & His Royal Acadians “, some tours in Canada, USA and Europe, playing in countries such as France, England, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, Austria, Holland, Scandinavia backing up artists like Billy Lee Riley and Eddie Bond, Roy decided to go back to Europe in 2005, and started the band again in 2010 with a new line up called : "The Mellow Kings"
His influences in music are pretty much wide in a range of Blues, Rhythm & Blues and RocknRoll from the 50's & 60's, referencing to artists such as Ike Turner, Ray Charles, T-Bone Walker, Larry Williams, Little Richard, Young Jessie, Junior Watson, Bobby Blue Bland and the Memphis sound, Freddie King, Johnny Otis, Guitar Junior and the Louisiana Style....plus lots of self-penned songs that accurate his show that he's now playing for many years all over Europe, with a bunch of albums along the way.
